The reasons for Apathetic Development and Apathetic Diary is to take knowledge I've gained and put it into practice, to take that education and use it to push me to further my education in fields that I have only dabbled with previously.
One practical application of this is that I'm going to develop code and applications. I have created a few projects for school and dabbled in code here and there, such as Powershell, C++, Ruby, HTML, and various others. I have not put an actual application into production, so Apathetic Diary is going to be Apathetic Developments first published application. This will just be a test on my ability to bring an application to life.
Another application is that I have started to force myself to visit parks and locations that I can take pictures. This is to serve several purposes, one is that I want to get out more, being in the field I'm in means I spent a lot of time inside. I also have an interest in taking pictures in general, I don't have anything special for picture taking, I have a cell phone (Currently a Pixel 2) but I believe most of the trouble in taking good pictures has little to do with the hardware and software, has to do with being able to see the what needs a picture taken of it.
Third application of my knowledge is my toolbox, I have a large quantity of tools that I haven't put to use, some haven't even been opened, others have been used a hand full of times. I want to build something that I can be proud of, I want to take my time and do it right and do it well. There are several projects that I want to do and you'll be able to follow along on my Apathetic Development Blog.
Fourth application is to redeem time spent staring at screens. I have been trapped by a screen for years, rather for work or at home or a computer or a TV or a phone. This addiction has historically ended in just wasting time I can do other things, but frankly I know that I can't drop the habbit without having something to pick up. So this project, Apathetic, is to help me move into doing things besides staring at screens and scrolling through articles and help me to show you how my brain works and put it to good use. Apathetic Diary has already started pushing me towards that goal.
